About Punt Yard
Punt Yard is a guide to Quayside and the surrounding area of Cambridge: its history, its landmarks, and how to spend time by the river.
Where our information comes from
Our information comes from published sources, including council records, Historic England listings and archaeological reports, which are cited on the pages that use them, and from conversations with people who run punting businesses on the Cam.
Where sources disagree or the evidence is thin, we try to say so. The archaeology page sets out what the excavation evidence does and does not show.
Keeping it current
Opening hours, prices and access change. Time-sensitive details carry the date we last checked them, and we link to the official source wherever one exists, so please confirm before you travel.
Our commercial relationships
The people behind this site also provide marketing services to businesses in the area, including Traditional Punting Company. We do not carry affiliate links or sell bookings, and we do not link to punting operators.
Corrections and contact

The name comes from a bar and restaurant that once traded at 6-8 Quayside and has since closed. You can read more in the history of Quayside.
